FAQ
How often do bike tours take place? Twice daily at 10:00 am and 3:00 pm, depending on interest. You need to make a reservation/booking. Please call (416) 274-8784 or email info@sightsonbikes.com to book a tour.
Where do the tours start? (click the map on the right to enlarge) We meet under the steel beam sculpture at the intersection of Yonge St. and Queen's Quay (in the North West corner of the intersection). This location is at the heart of Toronto's magnificent waterfront and is easily accessible by subway by walking south on Bay Street from the Union Station subway station and east to Yonge Street. A guide will meet you there, wearing a blue Sights on Bikes t-shirt.
Where does the tour go? The tours cover a lot of ground. We visit the major tourist attractions in the city and on the island. See the "Standard Tours" section of our website for descriptions and the "Gallery" section for photos. Call us for more details or to customise a route.
Do I need a bike? No. We provide you with a cruiser bicycle and a helmet.
What should I bring? Water and sunblock. Bring a waterproof jacket if it is raining. Tours run rain or shine (unless lightning).
How much do the tours cost? Tour prices vary depending on whether it's a standard or deluxe tour. Please use the menu on the left for pricing details. We require a 50% deposit prior to the tour date (which you can arrange by contacting us) and the rest in cash only on the day of your tour. (There is a cash machine just beside the meeting place). Discounts are available for Students, guests at some hostels and Hostelling International (HI) card holders.
Are the tours safe? The Island and beaches tours provide the safest routes as they are predominately on bike baths and in car-free zones. Urban bicycling can be dangerous, but the benefits of a guided tour are added safety and comfort knowing you are with experienced guides and travelling in a group. Toronto is also a relatively bicycle friendly city. Our city routes are carefully constructed to maximize time spent in parks and on bike paths.
Are the tours physically demanding? No. The tours are accessible to people of all fitness levels. |
