Sights On Bikes during Bike Week 2007

Toronto (released May 2007)

Sights On Bikes is back in 2007 for our 3rd summer in operation with an updated menu of tours that builds on our past experience.  This year we will continue to offer quality custom group and deluxe tours.  Details on all these tours are below:

Group Tours

Sights On Bikes has entered the group tour market, designing and customising tours to meet the needs of its varied groups.  From foreign language schools to corporate events to singles clubs to local law firms, Sights On Bikes is offering up an exciting ride.  Groups are able to equip their members with bikes and helmets, then be entertained as they follow knowledgeable guides around the city learning about Toronto’s fascinating past.  A leisurely ride along the water or to the islands makes for a relaxing event.  Optional stops include breweries, picnics, crepes, food at the Rectory Café or anyplace else you can think of.

Deluxe Tours

Deluxe tours are customised tours for couples and small groups who want to have the exclusivity of a private guide to teach them about Toronto’s past and show them the sights that meet their interests.  As for the group tours, a custom route can be designed in consultation with an experienced guide in order to make the most of your time.

Historical City Tour (daily 10am and 3pm)

For those interested in getting to know the city a little better, the downtown city tours are rich in facts and local lore. Whether learning the quirky traditions of the University of Toronto’s oldest colleges, retracing a suicide that took place in the Distillery District a century ago or drawing the battle lines of the 1837 rebellion and the American attack of 1813, this tour offers a thoughtful, entertaining and accurate portrayal of Toronto’s little known history. The tour extends from Casa Loma to the Distillery District and gives an excellent overview of the downtown area.

Toronto Islands Tour (daily 10am and 3pm)

Imagine gliding effortlessly through Toronto's most picturesque urban park with the sun setting behind the cityscape as your backdrop. Enjoy hors d'oeuvres or a picnic as you listen to stories and tales about the islands as told by our knowledgeable guides.  Learn how an area that once supported the great summer estates of Toronto's Industrialists and a thriving population of 10,000 people was reduced to a city park. See the site of Babe Ruth's 1st home run and hear the ghost stories about Toronto's lighthouse. Let out your inner child and try to find the end of the gigantic island maze. Best of all, enjoy the tour from the comfort of your own fat tire, soft seat, retro beach cruiser bike!
